Vodafone Replace Samsung NC10 Netbook with N130

The latest netbook offering from Vodafone is the functional and light-weight Samsung N130, a plain but punchy workhorse which replaces the NC10. Although it may not boast the streamlined build or pacy finesse of the netbook thoroughbred, the N310, it does offer an incomparable battery life of up to six hours and astounding usability for its diminutive size.

The N130 is usually available in matt black or white, with the future promise of trendier colours, but Vodafone currently only offer black. The Samsung N130 is powered by the Intel Atom 1.6 GHz N270 processor, which proves energy efficient for longer battery life. Available storage is adequate, with a 160GB hard drive and a 3-in-1 card reader as part of the deal.

The overall user functionality of keyboard and screen is excellent. The large tapered keys are easy to access but silent and firm to the touch. The 10.1-inch screen has LED backlighting, offering a range of benefits including additional brightness and lower power consumption.

LEDs are mercury free, so by buying and owning a Samsung N130 you're doing your little bit to save the planet. The non-gloss feature is an imperative, guaranteeing the elimination of irritating reflections. It also features a 16:9 wide-screen aspect ratio, ensuring that movies are displayed at their full potential.

Additional features include an integrated 0.3-megapixel webcam fitted above the screen, three USB ports for peripheral connections and an 802.11n Wi-Fi facilitating high-speed wireless connectivity.
